Yes as a last resort but if it becomes a reality we should do it right. We missed our opportunity to nuke Iraq and missed it hopefully that will not be the fact this time and hopefully it would never come to that.

it would be a big mistake...if they did that... then we got to fight russia!

There are so many countries with questionable political stability in possession of nuclear weapons nowadays, that it wouldn't make much of a difference. Or do you feel more comfortable with North Korea and Pakistan having nukes? I am more worried about the Chinese that unlike the aforementioned countries would be far less affected by political or economical sanctions.

Only that Russia is not quite as reckless as Iran. our "pipeline" to Russia is much more sophisticated than it is to Iran. We just cant compare these two totally different countries and their relationship to the West

Sarkozy!

Take a recent Georgia-Russia crisis. Sarcosy showed us all how fast you can achieve the desired goal with a skilful diplomacy. I wonder if our politicians seriously thought they could get Russia leave Georgia by just commanding it to do so and promising a new cold war. Looks like a stone-age diplomacy. I think we are capable of more than that. For instance, take the Harvard Negotiation Project. Why do students, politicians, businesspeople, etc. learn its principles – just for fun, to kill time?!

Why other developed countries are not so much concerned about Iran? Because there are ignorant? Or because they (esp. EU countries) used to live next to each other for many centuries and FINALLY learned the simple truth that diplomacy combined with other political and economic tools are much more effective and efficient when you want to change or create something (not to destroy it).

Tom, i won't change my mind, for i do not support Bush doctrine.
I firmly believe that Iran is first of all a country with a population of over 60 mio people who are born in this country, grow up with their childhood dreams, fall in love, get married, give birth to a new life, try to achieve smth and make a difference in their lives... You cannot seriously think of destroying all this just because you don't like Iran's political regime.

War should never be an option...

Dude8nijon, i totally agree with you ...in some points though.
But maybe your mind changes if: Prescribed Iran is close to develop its first WMD and there was such chance to prevent it by means of pre-emptive strikes. What would be the lesser evil: More terrorists or Iran being in possession of nuclear weapons? wouldnt you change your mind then?
